We Meet Again

The player is presented with the following dialogue and 4 choices:

"We meet again!"

A cheery disheveled fellow approached you gleefully. You do not know this man.

"It's me, Ranwid! Have any goods for me today? The usual? A fella like me can't make it alone, ya know?"

You eye him suspiciously and consider your options...

  • [Give Potion] Lose X Potion. Receive a Relic.
  • [Give Gold] Lose X Gold. Receive a Relic.
  • [Give Card] Lose X. Receive a Relic.
  • [Attack] (Nothing happens)

-The [Give Potion] option selects a potion randomly from your potion slots and replaces the X with the selected potion. This option is locked if you have no potions. Selecting this option yields the following dialogue:

"Exquisite! Was feeling parched."

Glup glup glup

He downs the potion in one go and lets out a satisfied burp.

He rummages around his various pockets...

"Here, look what I've got for you today! Take it take it!"

  • [Leave] (Nothing happens)

-The [Give Gold] option randomly chooses a value between 50 and your current amount of gold, replacing X with the chosen value of Gold. The option will be locked if you have less than 50 gold. Selecting this option yields the following dialogue:

"Magnificent! This will be quite handy if I run into those mask wearing hoodlums again."

He rummages around his various pockets...

"Here, look what I've got for you today! Take it take it!"

  • [Leave] (Nothing happens)

-The [Give Card] option randomly selects a card in your deck that isn't Basic nor a Curse, replacing the X with the selected card. This option is locked if your deck is composed of Basic cards and Curses only. Selecting this option yields the following dialogue:

"Exemplary! I shall study this further in my chambers."

He rummages around his various pockets...

"Here, look what I've got for you today! Take it take it!"

  • [Leave] (Nothing happens)

-Choosing the [Attack] option has no effect, essentially a leave. It yields the following dialogue:

"Aaaaagghh!! What a jerk you are sometimes!"

He runs away.

  • [Leave] (Nothing happens)

Trivia Edit

  • The name Ranwid is an anagram for Darwin.
  • Ranwid expresses knowledge and thoughts of certain items and creatures in the Spire as observed by his quotes in the relics Strawberry, Gold-Plated Cables, Gremlin Horn, Self-Forming Clay, Toxic Egg, The Specimen, Empty Cage, and Odd Mushroom. They also support Ranwid's tendency to research and examine some collectibles in his chambers.
  • The starting dialogue of the event and its name imply that the player has met Ranwid before, referencing the constant revival of the player by Neow and hence, the repeating meetings. The first meeting between Ranwid and the player, however, is never made clear or explained in the game.
  • Ranwid's mentioning of the "mask wearing hoodlums" refers to the Red Mask gang found in the Bullies event.
  • Giving Ranwid a Poison or Fire potion doesn't affect him at all, ironically.
