The Sundial is an Uncommon Relic. Every 3 times you shuffle your draw pile, you immediately gain 2 Energy.
Every time your discard pile is shuffled into your draw pile, including by effects such as Deep Breath and Reboot, the Sundial gains 1 charge. Charges persist between combats.
The Sundial is arguably one of the stronger uncommon relics; it's very powerful in many infinite damage combos. In addition, it is activated more often in thinner decks, similarly to The Abacus.
The general requirement for an infinite using the Sundial is:
Have a deck with few enough cards that the entire deck can be held in hand at once
Be able to do the following repeatedly using 2 or less Energy:
Draw 1+ cards, 3 times (example: Pommel Strike+ or Shrug It Off). Essentially, the player needs 2 cards, with a total energy cost of 2 or less, that draw 3 cards between themselves.
Deal any amount of damage
This works because the Sundial has a weird property when combined with cards that draw multiple cards at once. If the player has an empty draw pile, a single card in their discard pile, and they play an effect that draws 2 cards, the draw pile will be shuffled twice. This is what allows Pommel Strike+, Shrug It Off and Sundial to go infinite, for example.
