You Heal 25% of your HP, but you also get infected. |
Strategy[]
Both options are painful - Fungi Beasts can deal some serious damage, and Parasite will inevitably lose you some HP. The choice is mainly determined by how much HP the player has, and whether they can survive the battle and clear the Act.
The combination of Fungi Beast boosting their Strength and applying Vulnerable on death make it very likely that the player will have to deal with very high incoming damage numbers when taking them out one by one. A safer approach can be to equally lower the HP of each Fungi Beast and then finish them all at once with cards like Cleave, Dagger Spray or Doom and Gloom once they are low enough.
Like all battles, the Fungi Beasts award Gold, card selection, and points in addition to the Odd Mushroom, a very useful relic against enemies that utilize Vulnerable.
If your HP is low, eating the mushrooms both prevents the Fungi Beasts battle and restores some HP. Parasite will need to be removed later, but it's preferable to death by mouse-mushroom ambush. You may also consider this option if you have Omamori, Du-Vu Doll, or Darkstone Periapt.
