Forgotten Altar

Forgotten Altar is an event found exclusively in Act 2. You encounter a forgotten statue that requires an offering.

[Offer: Golden Idol] Obtain a special Relic. Lose Golden Idol.
- This option is available only if you have a Golden Idol to be offered.
- In Endless Mode, choosing this option while already having Bloody Idol does not remove Golden Idol, allowing you to finish the event with no effect.
[Sacrifice] Gain 5 Max HP. Lose 25% (35%) HP.
[Desecrate] Become Cursed - Decay.

Encounter
In front of you sits an altar to a forgotten god.
Atop the altar sits an ornate female statue with arms outstretched.
She calls out to you, demanding sacrifice.
Offer: Golden Idol
As you gently set the idol onto the altar a cold wind swirls throughout the room.
The arms of the statue begin to discolor and crumble.
Your golden idol begins to dull in color and begins bleeding from its eyes.
The bleeding never ceases.
Sacrifice
You stand on the altar and cut your wrists.
As the blood spills out in sacrifice, the arms of the statue reach out and close around your eyes.
Everything goes dark.
You wake up a short time later feeling a new potential surging through you.
Desecrate
You lash out and smash the statue in front of you, breaking the magical hold the room had placed upon you.
A dark wail echoes all around you, and you can feel the cursed magic seep into your bones.

The Act 1 event Golden Idol (Event) gives you the Golden Idol if you survive the boulder trap guarding it.
The Act 3 event The Moai Head will alternatively trade the Golden Idol for 333 gold.

Weekly Patch 5: Happy Holidays!
- Forgotten Altar now gives you the Max HP before damaging you. This way you won't die if the damage hits you first.
Weekly Patch 4: Full speed ahead!
- Forgotten altar displays correct HP loss for the Silent now.
