Activates upon opening a Chest; skipping the Chest will avoid the Curse.

Cursed Key is a Boss Relic.

Interactions

• Positive
  • Omamori will let you take the chest without gaining a Curse.
  • Blue Candle makes the curses easier to deal with.
  • Darkstone Periapt and Du-Vu Doll can make Curses beneficial.
• Negative
  • Matryoshka does not do anything unless you open the chest, giving a Curse you might wish to avoid.

  • Cursed Key was not pulsing and flashing to indicate it was active when treasure was found in ? rooms.
• Weekly Patch 30: Skewer
  • Fixed issue where relics like Cursed Key given by custom seeds didn't work.
• Weekly Patch 21: Channel Lightning
  • Cursed Key now pulses when you are in a chest room.
• Weekly Patch 8: Ooh Shiny!
  • Cursed Key relic no longer gives curses at Boss chests.
• Weekly Patch 3: Balance Balance Balance
  • Curses obtained through Cursed Key and a few other places now marks them as seen properly (no longer unknown!).
